We like to define ourselves through complicated dichotomies such as nature/nurture, body/mind, instinct/reason. We create all sorts of symbols to explain the unpalatable experience of life, then we act as if the world is made out of these symbols. We need fissures where all these can fall, be deconstructed and reemerge as something simpler. And funnier (like chickens).
My current research interests include the narrowing of the human-animal abyss in posthumanist philosophy, the moral inconsistency of humans in their relationship with animals (pets/pests/food) and anything pertaining to animal ethics.
I also teach & write. I'm happy to collaborate and/or discuss animals at [email protected]. You can also find me on Facebook and Instagram.
